Position: Sr. Accountant

Location: New Orleans, LA. This is an in-office position; with a potential to be Hybrid in the future.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000/year base; bonus potential up to 5% of base (based on company and individual performance)

Responsibilities:

• Record and manage all accounting and finance transactions.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including preparing all journal entries and reconciling the balance sheet.
• Support in the preparation for and execution of annual financial audits.
• Utilize forensic accounting techniques to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee and manage the preparation, calculation, and remittance of sales, franchise, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to senior management.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows, leveraging automation where possible.
• Strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud and financial misstatements, conducting periodic risk assessments.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience as Accountant/Sr. Accountant
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting
• CPA certification preferred
• Expert usage of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB standards.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is preferred
• Experience with integrating ancillary accounting softwares for bill processing, sales tax, credit cards, payroll etc into the ERP to enhance automation is highly desirable.
